Support the KICF Family
Your support helps us in innumerable ways. See how and where you might connect with KICF and our efforts to improve the lives and communities of our students!
We are small. The list of what we do may seem long and varied, but KICF is the outgrowth of two people and a small team we have curated around us who are like minded, compassionate, exceptional human beings and communicators.
Our intention centers around lasting impact. That is a reflection of relationship building. With our students, to their communities, to the systems they know while nurturing the willingness to imagine together what we might create that offers an even deeper integration of this art form within their lives. To draw on the skills cultivated at our instruments to build lives that are an outgrowth of listening, of daily practices, of vulnerability and resilience, and of vision. And this is work that ultimately leads to self awareness and new levels of honesty. That means compassionate and informed understanding around trauma as well as consistent inquiry around our cultural exchange to find resonance and mutual understanding.
Your help brings new found support to a young adult. It creates ripples of influence as they all work with younger students in communities throughout Kenya. It allows young eyes to see the possibilities that exist with the study of an instrument and allows young adults consistent avenues of expression with the voices, in this case, living within string instruments. But also allows each young adult to engage with the world around them with music as a vehicle for connection and community. And what we feel is a greater depth and meaning because of the pedagogy and time spent around professionalism and excellence.
